To provide reliable, secure, and proactive Managed IT Services, Nocturne Essentials requires client environments to meet the following minimum technology standards.
If your environment does not currently meet these standards, we will work with you to develop a reasonable remediation plan based on your operational requirements and budget.

Operating systems that have reached End of Support may be supported on a best-effort basis and may not qualify for Service Level guarantees.

Supported tenants should:

Use Microsoft 365 Business Standard, Business Premium, or Enterprise licensing where appropriate.

Have Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) enabled for all administrator accounts.

Maintain active licensing for all managed users.

endpoint protection
All managed endpoints must have:

Approved managed endpoint protection

Real-time protection enabled
-
Automatic signature updates enabled

Tamper protection enabled where supported

All managed endpoints must use the endpoint protection solution approved and managed by Nocturne Essentials unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Patch Management
Managed devices must:

Allow automatic operating system updates
-
Permit centralized patch management
-
Remain powered on or connected regularly to receive updates

Backup
Where backup services are included:

Devices must use an approved backup solution.

Backup jobs must complete successfully on a regular basis.

Clients are responsible for maintaining adequate storage capacity where applicable.

Networking
Client environments should include:

Business-grade firewall

Business-grade wireless access points
-
Managed network switches where appropriate

Supported firmware versions
Consumer networking equipment may be supported on a best-effort basis.

Internet Connectivity
Clients must maintain:

Reliable broadband Internet access

Administrative access to ISP accounts when required

Appropriate bandwidth for cloud-based services

To ensure reliable service:

Devices should be under manufacturer warranty whenever practical.

Devices older than approximately five years may be recommended for replacement.

Storage devices should maintain adequate free disk space for updates and normal operation.

Remote Management
Managed devices must permit installation of:

Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) software

Managed endpoint protection
-
Backup software (where applicable)

Removal or disabling of these tools may limit the services provided under your agreement.

Removal or disabling of the Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) agent may suspend proactive monitoring, patch management, and other managed services until the software is restored.

Third-Party Software
Business-critical applications should:

Be vendor-supported

Receive current security updates
-
Be properly licensed
Legacy or unsupported software may require separate support arrangements.

Security
Clients are expected to:

Maintain strong passwords

Use Multi-Factor Authentication where available

Promptly report suspected security incidents

Allow timely installation of critical security updates
